This place has it figured out, both pre- and during-Covid: their online classes have been as good as the in-person experience. My daughter (with no prior knowledge of Mandarin) is during her second year and her capability of speaking is incredible . I attribute it all to their method of teaching that keeps it engaging for students while encouraging to learn quickly new vocabulary phrases and grammar (the singing method is very helpful especially at the beginning), and the friendly and knowledgeable staff who push the boundaries for kids while maintaining a fun friendly interaction. I also have to mention that they have gone out of their way several times to remind me of online classes running when we hadn't joined the teleconference at start time. Thank you and keep it going!
We live in Washington state and currently take online classes with Sing in Chinese. My daughter is four and has been taking classes for about three weeks. I have seen a lot of improvement in her Chinese speaking abilities and she enjoys the classes greatly. Her teacher JoJo is very enthusiastic and really good with the students. The curriculum is fun and engaging. I highly recommend Sing In Chinese even if you don't live in the LA area. The virtual platform works flawlessly.
Online Classes at Sing in Chinese: My 8 year old daughter and 12 year old son are both taking the online enrichment classes in their respective levels. We've been a part of the Sing in Chinese Community since they have opened and they have always made sure to provide each student with the best learning experience as possible. I appreciate how the teachers meet regularly to discuss and evaluate the needs of each student and they've always kept me informed of my kids' progress. Informally, they will periodically check in with me to see how we are feeling about the classes. They intentionally keep the class sizes small so that the students receive a lot of personal attention. Now that we've chosen to take the online classes, I hear both of my kids actively speaking during most of their class times. On many occasions, I've heard them laugh out loud, which puts a smile on my face as well. I know they always look forward to their sessions and I believe it is because the classes are very interactive. Also, the instructors take an interest in them as individuals. We are so grateful for the thoughtful, caring teachers in this community!
Sing adapted beautifully to online learning without missing a beat! i had 2 kids continue their spring sessions into summer and into the current fall season. I have a third kiddo who saw how much fun her sibs were having and decided to join classes over the summer and opted to continue into the current fall season! Class sizes are small, teachers are fun, kind, and engaging. Homework materials/instructions are clear and easy for the kids to understand. The kids are definitely learning and progressing while having lots of fun. They all willingly and independently go to their zoom sessions. We also got together with 2 other families to form an outdoor creativity pod once a month. I like to call it a fun pod because the kids get to have so much fun socializing and learning science, art, music, cooking, all in Chinese! I am definitely a fan of Sing in Chinese. My kids have found a safe and nurturing environment that inspires them to learn Chinese.
