Kids have fun after school in our fun Chinese Immersion environment including classes, games, crafts, cultural activities and outdoor play!
My daughter enrolled in full day, 5 days a week, program started in September, 2022. She had surprised us with how quickly she learned to speak Mandarin to communicate to me, my wife, and her grandparents and the vocabulary she uses sometimes completely surprised us. The way the education program structured not only taught her the language but also singing, dancing, writing, and art as well as improved her social skill to play nice with others. Teachers seem to care so much about the kids and have so much passion for teaching and caring for them. I have never seen my daughter talked about her teachers and eager to go to school to see her teachers and play with her friends. The Brightwheel application the school uses for instance communication with parents and the amount of effort teachers take to post the daily progress throughout the day was absolutely awesome and it meant a lot to all parents. It was absolutely joyful for parents to see how much funs the kids had for the day in real-time. Thanks to the teach of our daughter for taking care of the kids, spending the time and effort to send a very detailed weekly reports to inform parents on what the kids had learned for each week. Also really appreciate her and Miss Lynn for a very throughout progress report and discussion during our first parents/teachers conference. It was really helpful for us to understand her progress and the area where we could help to accelerate her learning and development. Overall, we were glad that we enrolled her to build a great foundation for Mandarin learning. We have seen great improvement within the past few months not only in speaking and learning Mandarin but also all aspect of her pre-school education and experience. Highly recommended for all parents who want a similar great learning experience for their kids!
If you are looking for a Chinese immersion preschool for your little one, look no further than Sing in Chinese Preschool! My husband and I have two sons, ages 7 and 4, and have had a lot of experience with a variety of local Chinese schools. There are so many factors to consider when choosing what is best for your family, so we wanted to share how over the moon we have been with Sing In Chinese. Neither my husband nor I speak Mandarin, but we realized how valuable speaking it would be for a better world-view for our children and our family. When my children were little, I took a couple Chinese language classes at El Camino College so while I am in no way fluent, I can at least speak basic simple sentences now at home. Beyond that, their only Chinese language exposure comes from their respective schools. You know how they say when you meet the right person, you just KNOW they are the one you are supposed to marry? Well, we just KNEW we made the right decision to send our son to Sing in Chinese the very first week of school. From his first day, he was SO happy to be there and made friends immediately. All the other parents in the same class as our son are constantly remarking on what a special bond these kids have with each other and their nurturing teachers. Without any direction from parents or adults, the children are often so excited to see each other every day that many of them greet each other with a hug, or group hug, and similarly bid farewells in a similar manner which speaks to not only the caliber of the families at the school, but also the quality of the teachers and environment. Beyond seeking a safe and compassionate environment, the main qualification we sought was Chinese language acquisition and boy, has Sing in Chinese delivered in a huge way! Their program is fully immersive in such a fun and loving way that within a span of only three months, our son was speaking complete and complex sentences in Chinese. This was such a huge win for us considering he was at another local Chinese school for a year and only ever responded to them in English and minimal Chinese. Sing in Chinese uses their own proprietary and creative curriculum which involves teaching Chinese through a large catalog of songs they specially created for their students. And wow does it work! From his first week of school to the present, our son is constantly singing songs to himself and to us that he is learned at school, from colors of the rainbow, to cleaning up, going to the beach, and countless others. Beyond their curriculum, they truly believe in immersing the kids and do not translate or assume translation is needed for the kids, and that has been a huge win for helping our child quickly master the language! Other things you may be wondering: 1. Kindergarten-readiness: If you are hesitating to sign up for a Chinese immersion program because you are worried your child will be behind when starting kindergarten, have no fear as Sing in Chinese Preschool carves out time to work with the children on number and letter recognition, phonics, writing skills, fine motor skills, and team building. From my experience between the variety of Chinese schools and American preschools our children have been to, this school is already doing more in terms of preparing my child than even the English-speaking preschool my older son attended and am confident that my youngest will be more than prepared to start his journey at a typical American program when he is old enough. 2. Discipline: I appreciate that Sing in Chinese operates in a gentle manner not seeking to punish children if they make mistakes, but to teach them in a positive manner that does not shame. 3. Communication: The school does an excellent job of sending out daily and weekly communication of what subjects the children are learning and even include phrases and words which are helpful if you are trying to learn along side your child. They use a helpful app where you can send messages to the teachers and administration. They also do a nice job of including pictures of their activities with your child at work which is a fun peek into their daily routines! 4. Safety: The school has taken extra measures to include a code lock door on their classrooms and use an app to check your child in and out each day with a unique code that only your family has. I am so glad we made the switch from the other local Chinese school to Sing in Chinese and I can truly say our child is thriving there! It is not uncommon to hear my child as well as many of the others request to stay later because they love school and their friends so much. I am so glad we made the decision to move to Sing in Chinese and I can not wait to see how the love for learning the Chinese language of my children continues to develop over the years at not only their preschool, but also their after-school program! Thank you to Director Lynn Laoshi and the amazing teachers at this school for fostering such a love of learning!
This bilingual preschool has been a lifesaver for us first-time parents. The stress of finding a good school for your kid can keep you up at night. But when we found this preschool, it was like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. Our little boy started at this preschool when he was just two years old. He is three now, and the transformation we have seen in him is nothing short of amazing. You would not believe the nerves we had sent him off on his first day. But this school has been a true blessing. The teachers here are some of the most caring people I have ever met. They have made it their mission to ensure that our son, and all the other kids, are learning in a safe, comfortable, and fun environment. I mean, it is just unbelievable how quickly our boy has adapted and how excited he is every morning to go to school. And let us talk about the bilingual part. We wanted our son to learn Chinese, but we were clueless about how to go about it. But this kindergarten made it a piece of cake! The teachers use all sorts of fun and interactive ways to get the kids to learn Chinese and English side by side. Our boy is now talking and singing in Chinese, we could not be prouder. This school is more than just a preschool to us, it is a community. It is a place where our son is learning about the world, about different cultures, and how to respect and appreciate the differences in people. So, to all the staff at this fantastic preschool, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your hard work, dedication, and love for what you do have made this journey a breeze for us. And most importantly, you have given our son an incredible start to his education. Our gratitude for your work is endless. We are excited to see where this journey will take our son next. Thanks for giving us peace of mind and for helping our boy grow and learn every day. Keep doing what you are doing - you are changing lives!
This place has it figured out, both pre- and during-Covid: their online classes have been as good as the in-person experience. My daughter (with no prior knowledge of Mandarin) is during her second year and her capability of speaking is incredible . I attribute it all to their method of teaching that keeps it engaging for students while encouraging to learn quickly new vocabulary phrases and grammar (the singing method is very helpful especially at the beginning), and the friendly and knowledgeable staff who push the boundaries for kids while maintaining a fun friendly interaction. I also have to mention that they have gone out of their way several times to remind me of online classes running when we hadn't joined the teleconference at start time. Thank you and keep it going!
